Who we are, and what we do with your data
Intimassy is made by Significant Inc, in Germany. An app like this only works if you can trust it, so this page says plainly how the business works and what happens to your data. Every claim here matches our privacy policy, which is the binding version.
How we make money
The app is free. It earns money in exactly two ways.
Optional purchases
In-app purchases for extra features, or for removing ads. Entirely your choice.
Contextual ads
Ads in the free version are picked without using anything about you. We never ask your phone for tracking permission, so there is nothing for an ad network to target.
That is the whole business model. You are the customer, and the app itself is what we sell.
What leaves your phone
Your entries, notes, photos, partner names and positions are encrypted on your device, one record at a time, before any backup is uploaded. The name you give a custom place is the one exception: it is not encrypted, because the app needs those names to tell your places apart.
You can turn analytics off in the app. Even when it is on, it receives counts and broad ranges — for example "has logged recently" — never the content of anything you wrote. The full lists are in sections 1 to 3 of the privacy policy.
What we can and cannot see
Many apps say "we can't see your data" and hope you don't check. We would rather tell you exactly where the line is.
Never leaves encryption
- The content of your entries and notes
- Your photos
- Partner names and details
- Positions, ratings and the rest of what you log
- None of it goes to any ad or analytics company
We hold the encryption keys, and use them only to
- Compute anonymous community averages, like the global stats shown to everyone
- Delete photo files no backup refers to any more
- Migrate old backups to newer data formats
So no, this is not end-to-end encryption, and we won't pretend it is. If we ever need a new purpose, the policy gets updated first and you are asked to review it before it starts. Details in section 5 of the privacy policy.
Leaving is easy, and complete
Account deletion is in the app's settings, not behind a support email. It permanently removes your backups, photos, profile and account from our servers, and we instruct our payment provider to delete its record of you too. We cannot recover it afterwards, and that is the point.
